Are you prepared for some fishing?

As spring arrives in the High Country, thoughts quickly turn to memories of sunny afternoons and casting a line in the water, so follow those intuitions and grab a pole, or come without one to the lake. J&B Trout Lake, that is, having been opened since April 12, 2007 behind Shatley Springs Inn.

At J&B Trout Lake, they are in the business of offering everything you may need for trout fly fishing - from the equipment to the fish you have an opportunity to catch. The two acre lake behind Shatley Springs – one of Ashe County’s biggest seasonal attractions – will be open all week, 8:30 a.m. to dusk for the best fishing opportunity.

J&B Trout Lake will supply everything you need to fish and customers only pay for what they catch. Individuals are welcome along with school, civic and church groups. No license required as well as there is no limit on catch, while the cost is about $4.75 per pound. And if you need a lesson, whether it be for beginners or just trying to remember the old steps, their expert and owner Blair Barber, accompanied by his staff, will be glad to help an either area. The lake atmosphere offers fun for family members of all ages. Come visit them for a day of excitement and an escape from the indoors.

OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND!!!!!
